Two small posters with quotations from and references to two books for children that are quite famous in Russia: "Le avventure di Cipollino" (1951) by Gianni Rodari and "Dunno on the Moon" (1964) by Nikolay Nosov. In Russia, the word "vegetable" bears negative connotations in vernacular (it means that someone is passive and blindly obedient), and is also used as a rather rude reference to patients in a vegetative state. In "Dunno on the Moon," the utopian communist "shortlings" (an inch- or two high fairy tale folk invented by Nikolai Nosov) from Earth visit the Moon and discover a caricature shortling capitalist society living inside the Moon on a small "inner Moon" (the Moon is portrayed as a nut-like structure with a thin outer crust and an "inner Moon" in the centre). Kozlik (Goaty) is a local "loonie" shortling (an odd-jobber) interrogated by two "Earth" shortlings: Selyodochka (Herring), an astronomer from the City of the Sun, and Vintik (Screw), an inventor from the Flower City.
